How does our DIY cutting board workshop work?
At our team event in Berlin, you choose from a selection of fine types of wood such as oak, maple, ash or walnut and produce your very own cutting board under professional guidance. This workshop is exclusively about manual work — without machines! In this way, you can experience first-hand how a practical unique piece of wood is made.
First, you will be introduced to the special features of the wood types and learn how to cut and prepare the wood correctly. We will then show you how to smooth edges and surfaces and get your board into the perfect shape. Precision and careful work are our focus. Finally, add the finishing touch to your cutting board by sanding, oiling and polishing it — and making it shine in full splendor.
This workshop is not only a great opportunity to create a practical kitchen tool, but also an opportunity to expand your craft skills and learn something new as a team. In the end, you not only take home a wonderful cutting board, but also the memory of an enriching experience.

What you’ll do in the class
Welcome round and presentation
At the beginning, we warmly welcome you and your team and introduce ourselves. You will get to know the workshop and the course of the day.
Short theoretical introduction to the choice of materials
In a short introduction, we explain the different types of wood and their properties so that you can make the best choice for your project.
Now you have the option to select the wood of your choice — oak, maple, ash or walnut — and prepare yourself for the handwork.
Handmade production
Under expert guidance, you start manufacturing the cutting board. You carry out all steps yourself — from cutting to sanding and polishing.
Final round
At the end of the workshop, we meet again to admire the finished work and share the experiences of the day.
Who is the class suitable for?
This workshop is aimed at anyone who has no previous experience in wood processing and would like to get creative together as a team. You don't need any experience — we'll guide you and your team step by step so that everyone creates their own unique cutting board.
For experienced woodworkers, the course is perhaps less challenging as it is aimed at beginners. But don't worry — professionals are also welcome as accompanying persons to enjoy the day together with their team and share the craft experience!
