What you’ll do in the class
First entry: Calvados meets rum
We start with two special Calvados variants, which were refined in rum barrels:
- Calvados Coquerel Pommeau Barrel Finish — fruity apple notes with fine sweetness
- Calvados Coquerel Rum Barrel Finish West Indies — a harmonious combination of apple and Caribbean rum notes
2. The diversity of rum
We discover different rum styles, from fruity to spicy, from light to intense:
- PLANTATION Isle of Fiji — exotic, soft, with notes of vanilla & coconut
- PLANTATION Xaymaca — typically Jamaican with strong funk and spice
- Chairman's Reserve Forgotten Casks — complex blend from St. Lucia with wood & caramel notes
- PLANTATION Single Cask 2015 Bélize — aged in single cask, with deep aromas and elegance
- PLANTATION Barbados PXXO — limited edition with balanced sweetness & spice
- PLANTATION Barbados XO — fine, aged rum with creamy caramel and vanilla notes
3. The sweet ending: Rhum Arrangé from La Réunion
Finally, we'll try three flavored rums from Reunion, which combine fruits and spices in a unique way:
- Flamed banana — sweet, caramel & exotic
- ginger/lemon — refreshing, spicy & invigorating
- Peanut — nutty, creamy & irresistible
