About this experience
Step inside a professional Berlin music studio and experience how techno and house music are made from the ground up. Together, we’ll create a track from scratch using professional studio eq…
How does this experience take place?
- We begin with an introduction to the professional music studio, the equipment we’ll use, and the history of house and techno — from their roots in Chicago and Detroit to Berlin’s world-famous electronic music and club culture.
- Then we get hands-on. Using Ableton Live, synthesizers, drum machines and professional studio equipment, we’ll build a techno or house track together from scratch. You’ll learn how producers create beats, basslines and musical ideas, experiment with sound design and effects, and develop those ideas into an arrangement.
- Finally, we’ll explore the basics of mixing and production before listening back to what we’ve created together on the studio sound system.
- The workshop is interactive and collaborative throughout — you won’t simply watch me produce. No previous music production or Ableton Live experience is needed, making the session ideal for complete beginners, while more experienced musicians, DJs and producers are also welcome.
