About this class
In this course, we will get to grips with clay as a figure: Clay is the suitable material for approaching the sculptural structure of a three-dimensional portrait, as it is easy to add as well as remove.
Here's what else you should know:
If there are enough participants, it is possible to invite a model to the studio so that we can work on the real model.
It is possible to burn the work of art later so that, if necessary, you can color the work with clay paints and/or glaze in a subsequent appointment.
What you’ll do in the class
First, we build up the basic structure of a head, including the base of the neck and, if you want to make a bust, the shoulders. The formulation of the face with all its ups and downs receives the greatest focus: I will assist you with anatomical laws. However, artistic freedom stands above all - anyone who wants to produce caricatures or comic books is welcome. This allows us to express ourselves both naturalistically and freely.
