About this class
In this lovely creative course, children discover the joy of building, kneading and sculpting. Together, we create figures and objects from wire, newspaper and homemade paper mache.
As a graduate designer, author and storyteller and experienced art teacher at various schools in Hamburg, I love making children's stories visible with my hands. For me, building forms means discovering bodies, spaces and characters and giving them expression. It is precisely this joy that I would like to share with the children. I accompany them playfully, calmly and mindfully — creating works full of personality and imagination. In doing so, children can find their own design language — freely, courageously and creatively, regardless of previous knowledge.
What you’ll do in the class
The children's course consists of 3 Saturdays, 15:00 — 17:30.
There is always about a week of dry season between appointments.
1st Saturday:
We build a wire frame and cover it with newspaper & paste.
2nd Saturday:
We cook the papier-mâché dough together and model shapes and details.
3rd Saturday:
Fine work & painting — now the figure is colorful, lively and unique.
Who is the class suitable for?
For children aged 8 and over,
a maximum of 8 children per group — so every child has enough space and personal support. The course promotes creativity, imagination and playful discovery: Each child can implement their own ideas, create individual figures and freely develop their imagination.
