About this class
Whisky Tasting in Innsbruck - What can you expect?
We are pleased to be able to accompany you as a “tour guide” through the fascinating world of whiskey.
To do this, we travel to the whiskey countries of Scotland, Ireland, USA and Japan.
Important: The event can only take place if the number of participants is at least 10 people - this applies to appointment requests and to voucher purchases!
The appropriate location will be provided by you/you (e.g. living room with large dining table, seminar room in the company, or something similar) - we will bring everything else with us.
What you’ll do in the class
The aim of the tasting is to give you an insight into the wide world of whiskey. In addition to enjoying seven different whiskeys, you will learn:
- Interesting facts about their history
(e.g. whiskey comes from Scotland or Ireland, do you write whiskey or whiskey),
- the different types of whiskey
(e.g. what distinguishes a single malt from a blended Scotch/blended malt whiskey or a bourbon whiskey from Jack Daniel's)
- and their areas of origin (e.g. is there a difference in taste between
a Lowland, Highland, Speyside and an Islay whiskey),
- the differences in production
(e.g. why do the Scots use barley for single malt whiskey and the Americans mostly use corn for bourbon whiskey. Why does single malt whiskey sometimes taste smoky and peaty)
- and the special features of storage
(e.g. what is the difference between single cask and cask strength or barrel proof. What does port or sherry finishing mean in whiskey and what distinguishes a first fill barrel from a second fill barrel).
