About this class

From a piece of wood to a self-carved spoon. That is the idea behind this workshop. You can eat with your hands, but our society prefers a spoon. Nowadays, spoons are mostly made of all kinds of materials, but who still eats their soup with a wooden spoon?

Even the well-reinforced plastic cooking spoon is sold more often than a beautiful one made of solid wood. Spoon carving is actually pretty easy, if you have good tools and if you're in practice, it's actually pretty quick. We have different woods to choose from, whether walnut, maple, or plum, everyone will find a suitable wood.

For those who haven't carved so often, we use fresh wood from the neighboring forest. Everyone can decide for themselves the shape of the spoon. Then it's off with the axe, on with the pre-sawing and finally on to carving with different knives.

The course was very nice. I felt very comfortable. Mischa-Amadeus showed and explained every work step. I was able to practice and carve on my own wood. I ended up with a great self-carved spoon and was very proud.
