Class description
Due to ancient Persian culture, the eventful history of Persia (today Iran) and the country's location on the Silk Road, Persian-Oriental cuisine has a great diversity and strong influences from other cuisines of the world — such as Indian cuisine.
In addition, Persian-Oriental cuisine sees food as the mother of medicine and focuses in particular on the healing aspects of nutrition. Spices and herbs play an important role here both in refining the dishes and in their beneficial and positive effects on people.
Distinctive features of Persian-Oriental cuisine
- spices such as saffron, cinnamon, cardamom and turmeric
- as well as fresh herbs such as mint, coriander, parsley, dill
- Overall, the food is very mild and harmonious
- The aromas are very finely coordinated
- An important part of Persian cuisine is fragrant rice, which can be steamed or cooked
- Yogurt in various variants (for example with fresh herbs or garlic) as an addition should not be missing
