Class description
In addition to teaching basic techniques, this workshop places particular emphasis on the design of the individual letters, compositions and the overall design. Techniques and materials are discovered and remixed again and again.
Embellishments of scrolls, banners, bows and lines are added as you please. With hand lettering, attention to detail creates a harmonious overall picture that conveys the special idea at first glance.
How does this activity work?
Creative hours await you in a very special location. The workshop is designed to last three hours and includes the basics of lettering. I will guide you through various techniques and you will learn how to implement individual lettering or a short saying to a very individual saying.
The generic term calligraphy means nothing else than the art of writing.
The term originated from the combination of the ancient Greek words “kalos”, meaning “beauty,” and the word “-graphia,” meaning “to write or represent.” Many often imagine very classic or somewhat antiquated documents, perhaps certificates or diplomas, which, although artfully designed, are not exactly contemporary.
However, if we take a closer look at this skill, we discover how many highly talented and very current artists have turned to the topic of calligraphy in all its diversity and wonderful expressiveness and are implementing it in a contemporary way.
Who should definitely take part?
For anyone who wants to express themselves creatively and discover everything in their handwriting. From beginners to advanced, there is something for everyone.
