About this class
A special culinary experience awaits you at the unsicht-Bar Berlin — a dinner in complete darkness. As your eyes rest, your other senses come to the fore. Feel how the taste becomes more intense and how you navigate through the darkness while blind or severely visually impaired waiters accompany you.
All dishes are perfectly designed to be enjoyed in the dark, from boneless fish to bite-size portions. You have normal cutlery at your disposal and will be amazed how quickly you get used to it.
There is a fish menu, a vegan menu and a surprise menu. If you have any incompatibilities, simply let us know on site on the evening of your visit. The kitchen will be happy to suggest an alternative for you.
What you’ll do in the class
- Reception in the softly lit foyer with an aperitif.
- Discussion of the menu and the option to find out about the menu or be surprised.
- Introduction to the dark experience by the team.
- Guided tour of the dark guest room by your guest services.
- Orientation using time explanations of the placement of the objects (e.g. fork at 9 o'clock).
- Enjoy a multi-course seasonal dinner that is specially designed to be eaten in the dark — easy to eat, without complicated carving.
- Option to leave the dark for breaks or trips to the toilet, accompanied by your guest services.

- Light sources of all types are taboo, e.g. lighters, glowing dials or cell phone displays
- Please do not move through the dark guest room without your guest services - you could bump yourself or others or disrupt the service process
