Class description
Dive into the fascinating world of cyanotopia! In this workshop, you will rediscover a historical printing technique and create your own unique design for a pennant flag. As a family or group, you can make a bunting out of it and string it wherever you are!
It is simply fun to arrange different flowers, scraps of paper, negatives or other objects on the fabric, and then watch how the light conjures up your subject! You don't need to bring anything and no previous knowledge — just a desire to create and curiosity.
How does this activity work?
- 15 minutes arriving at the Open Lab
- 10 min theory input: cyanotopy, historical printing technology
- 30 minutes of creative work: Arranging your personal collage of plants and other motifs from our archive
- Wait 20 minutes for the print result: The colors react with UV and develop over time
- Wash out for 15 minutes and proudly present the results
For parties (wedding, birthday, team event) with many people, a printing station can also be set up over a longer period of time; costs can be negotiated accordingly.
Who should definitely take part?
The workshop is suitable for all creative minds aged 14 and over. Children under 14 must attend accompanied by an adult caregiver aged 16 and over. For groups of children, please bring one adult per 4 children.
