About this class
My name is Sareh Mokhtari. I'm an experienced artist with a passion for teaching and over 10 years of experience in the visual arts. I specialize in combining classic techniques with modern concepts and adding depth and expression to every piece. In this practical workshop, I will guide you through the process of creating a unique decorative painting. You'll learn how to apply textures and use gold leaf to add a touch of elegance. The result is a beautiful 40 x 40 cm canvas that reflects your personal style.
All materials, including canvas, texture paste, and spatula, are provided so you can fully immerse yourself in the creative experience. Join us for an inspiring 3-hour session and go with a piece of art that's ready to decorate your space.
What you’ll do in the class
The workshop lasts three hours. Here is an overview of the course:
Introduction & material overview (15-20 minutes): We start with a brief introduction to the materials provided, including canvas, textured paste, gold leaf and spatula. I'll also give you basic tips on mixed media techniques.
Create a foundation & apply structure (45 minutes): You'll learn how to create a textured base on your canvas and experiment with different ways of layering and applying the structure to create a dynamic background.
Add gold leaf & details (45 minutes): Once the base is complete, we apply gold leaf and add the finishing touches to the artwork to create a decorative finish that reflects your individual style.
Completion & sharing (15 minutes): In the last part of the workshop, we assign final details, seal the work of art and take time to share and appreciate the works of all participants.
