After the Bremen-based coffee merchant Ludwig Roselius brought the world's first decaffeinated coffee onto the market in 1906, he became one of the richest men in Germany. With the profit he made with his coffee, he bought an entire street in the old town of Bremen and had the “Böttcherstraße” built there from 1922 to 1931 - a complete work of art made of brick.
