Which models can be built during the bow making weekend in the Spreewald?
My recommendation for children aged 9 to 14 years (material rattan-peeled):
We offer workshops specially tailored for children, which make the course an exciting experience that strengthens confidence in their own abilities and abilities.
For the very little ones, it is possible to build a fly bow in approx. 2 hours (1 meter bow with nylon string including 3 arrows)
There are 2 modules for adults
1. Beginner (material: natural rattan)
The unpeeled rattan wood (manau) comes from the rattan palm, is very long-fibrous and grows evenly. Therefore, a reliable, durable bow can be made with simple tools. The natural bark is very hard and protects the back of the bow. It gives the bow an individual look and makes each bow unique.
2. Bow making from ash or robinia
The local hardwood of ash is suitable for building a traditional flat bow. The prepared blank with an exposed back is relatively easy to work with. Suitable for participants with craft experience.
