Stattgarten project: herbal workshops in Vienna

Hi, my name is Sophie! Gardening is my passion — and I want to share it with you.

I grew my first radishes in the Weinviertel region. When I moved to Vienna, I missed my vegetable garden. So I started experimenting: first with houseplants, then with vegetables on my balcony, then in a raised bed. Today I know that vegetables grow almost everywhere — if you know how.

My knowledge is based not only on experience, but also on solid education and practical work. Through my studies in agricultural science and agricultural education, I learned the scientific basics of plant growing while working directly in practice at a professional vegetable farm — from cultivation to harvesting. I not only got involved there myself, but also developed educational programs to teach city gardeners how to successfully grow vegetables.

I share this knowledge in my workshops. So that your balcony, window sill or raised bed will soon provide you with fresh vegetables and you will never be baffled by dried plants again.

My workshops have found a home in the Néon Shared Atelier in Vienna's 9th district. And right here, in the middle of the city, is my workshop garden, so that I can show you between plants and with my hands in the soil how your plants really thrive.

It is super important to me to give you the knowledge that you really need. That is why my courses require no previous knowledge, are extremely practical and take place in small groups of up to 8 people.

On request, I am also happy to offer tailor-made courses for groups: the topics range from “ways to a richer harvest” in the community garden, to “growing houseplants” for a birthday party, to “basics in the vegetable garden” for the community garden on the corporate roof - individually put together according to the grow-how and skills that are needed.
