Alexandra Lotter: Experimental cyanotype in Munich

I am a freelance artist in Munich and my work deals with experimental artistic processes and the interplay of material, color and chance.

In my cyanotype workshops, I don't teach the technology as a rigid process, but as a starting point for my own discoveries. We work with water, salt, acids and — depending on the course — also with pigments, inks and coatings. This does not result in predefined patterns, but individual works that develop from the experiment and the behavior of the materials.

The workshops take place in small groups in my studio. This leaves plenty of room for personal support, exchange and personal experimentation. The focus is on curiosity, material experience and the joy of not having to completely control every result.
