The turntable workshop at MUSSSE in Hamburg is an intensive, craft experience about working on the pottery wheel. This is about technology, a feeling for material and the particular dynamism between hands and rotating sound — concentrated, accompanied and in a quiet studio atmosphere.
Introduction to working on the potter's wheel.
In this workshop, you will learn the basics of turning step by step: centering, opening, lifting and shaping. Your own container is created under professional guidance — whether it's a cup, bowl or small vase.
The focus is on understanding material, movement and technology. Each person works on their own album and is individually accompanied.
The workshop is suitable for beginners as well as for participants who want to deepen their technique.
Cancellations are possible free of charge up to 5 days before the start; in case of later cancellation or no-show, the participation fee will be charged in full.

Welcome and brief introduction of materials
Demonstration of basic techniques
Independent work at the hub
Individual support throughout the process
Selection of the resulting pieces for further processing
The finished works are dried, glazed and fired twice by us. After around four weeks, they are ready for collection.
