About this class
Dive into the world of ceramics in the light-flooded artist studio K Studio Keramik & Mal Atelier. In this inspiring environment, you can design your own ceramic objects using construction technology and have the opportunity to also paint your pieces with engobe paints.
The course is led by Funda, an experienced artist who studied fine arts in England and has obtained her diploma and master student titles at the University of Arts.
Working with sound is relaxing, grounding and giving you a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Surrounded by art, color and form, you will experience a creative flow in which you arrive at the moment.
Course content:
- Introduction to various hand building techniques: thumb, plate and bead techniques
- Individual instructions for implementing your own ideas
- On request: use of texture and surface methods
- Optional: painting with engobe colors can be booked as an add-on or payable locally 10€ per person
- Scrub firing and glaze firing can be booked as an add-on or payable locally 10€ per person
What is engobe?
Engobe is a high-quality, tinted clay slurry compound that allows you to apply individual colors and patterns to your works. It is applied to the leathery clay and provides special color effects. Since engobes are expensive, special materials, there is an additional charge of 10€ for their use.
What you’ll do in the class
- After the welcome in front of the entrance and the main entrance door in front of the building, we take the lift together to the studio floor on the 4th floor. Barrier-free access to the house & studio.
- After a brief introduction, this pottery course will give us an insight into the different construction techniques and try out the techniques ourselves and make two pieces of ceramic.
- Free parking spaces are available directly in front of the building.
Who is the class suitable for?
The course is perfect for beginners and advanced students who want to work creatively and dive into the world of pottery in a relaxed atmosphere. No previous knowledge is required — everyone is welcome to experiment with sound and discover their own creative style.
