Class description
Raku is an old Japanese firing technique and probably the most exciting way to burn! The ceramics are removed from the oven while glowing and retreated in various ways. This creates the typical craquelure effects. In this course, I will show and tell you the secrets of this Japanese tradition and what is important. This not only introduces you to an age-old tradition, but also brings your own work of art home to me.
What is the process?
- The course starts with a small theory unit
- Here you have the opportunity to glaze two pieces that I have screwed
- During the dry phase of approx. 1 hour, I will guide you through the gallery
- You can then burn your glazed parts yourself in the Raku oven

Marie-Annick Le Blanc Ceramics
After 25 years in the field of classical music management, I found my way to ceramics late on. My chance encounter with Ton and Raku in particular was decisive for the change of direction. I realized very soon that I had found what I had been looking for here.
