  • The course is ideal for anyone who enjoys manual work and is interested in upcycling furniture. Whether you're a beginner or an advanced user, anyone who wants to expand their creative skills is welcome.
  • In the furniture workshop in Frankfurt, you will learn how to upholster and upholster seats yourself. The course consists of a theoretical and practical part, during which you will acquire extensive knowledge of craft techniques and materials such as webbing, upholstery fabrics and more. After the introduction, you will work step by step on an upholstered frame, which you will design yourself with support. Ideal for DIY fans and upcycling enthusiasts, the workshop also offers tips and where to buy materials. Discover your creative streak and make old furniture shine!

How does this activity work?

1st part of the workshop (approx. 180 min.): Basic knowledge
Here you will learn interesting facts about hand tools, upholstery materials such as rubber and jute straps, linen, foam, upholstery wadding, glue, feathers and spring baskets and other consumables. Tips on upcycling again and again! Of course, your questions will be answered so that you can start the practical part perfectly prepared.

Break

2nd part of the workshop (approx. 180 min.): Practice Each
participant receives a custom-made upholstered frame (suitable for a beverage crate), which is upholstered from scratch in the workshop: tighten straps, apply linen, cut and stick foam, apply cotton, cover the seat, model corners. There are various upholstery materials to choose from: synthetic leather, plain or patterned fabrics.
