About this class
In this creative DIY workshop in Meerbusch (near Düsseldorf), you will design your own lampshade (diameter 30 cm). You choose fabrics for indoor and outdoor use and learn how to create a double-covered designer lampshade — a typical feature of Sama Manufaktur.
I will guide you step by step through assembly, cutting, tensioning and the perfect finish. You combine different fabrics to create a unique personal interior that you will be proud to take home with you at the end. The workshop takes place on the premises of Wohnraum-Meerbusch and is suitable for anyone who loves creative work — without any previous knowledge.

What to bring to the class
You are welcome to bring your own fabric. Make sure it isn't elastic or too thick. If you are unsure, we will check it on site — alternatively, you can use my material collection.
What is included in the class?
The workshop includes all materials you need for your own lampshade: lampshade film, double-sided adhesive film, high-quality fabrics for indoor and outdoor use and the matching lampshade rings.
In addition, during the entire workshop, you will have all the tools and aids you need for every step of the way.
Drinks such as water and juices are included for a relaxed atmosphere, and soft music accompanies us through the creative process.

What you’ll do in the class
At the start, I greet all participants in a relaxed manner with a refreshing drink and soft music playing in the background. After we briefly introduce ourselves, I will explain the course of the workshop so that everyone knows what to expect and how we will get the finished lampshade together step by step.
Then it's time to choose the fabric: From my large collection of materials, participants can choose two fabrics — one for outside and one for inside. This is where the creative part starts, because every combination has its own unique character.
All necessary materials and tools are already available at every workplace. I'll first explain the rough process and then we'll work together on the individual steps in stages. I show each work step on my own lampshade so that everyone can see exactly how it is done. The participants then carry out the shown step on their own screen.
As soon as everyone is ready, we will move on together. During the entire workshop, I walk around the room, answer questions and help where help is needed. This creates a relaxed, supportive atmosphere in which you can let off steam creatively — without any stress.
Finally, we are happy to take photos of the finished lampshades. If you like, you can also take a picture with me — perfect for social media or as a personal reminder of a creative day.
