Class description
I am very often asked whether you can eat vegan on the African continent, and I can answer that with a very loud yes.
What can you expect in Congolese cooking in Berlin with bijoux: Saka Saka Vegan?
In the Saka Saka vegan cooking class, I would like to “invite” you to take a culinary journey with me into both traditional and modern Congolese cuisine as part of a 3-course menu. Saka is cassava, also known as yuca or cassava. Cassava is common throughout Africa, especially West Africa, such as the potato here. You can also cook, fry, etc., enjoy it and it is gluten-free. We will cook a traditional vegan stew with cassava leaves and beans “Saka Madesu” in the main course. In the starter, we make the cassava root salty, let yourself be surprised here.
For dessert, there is the classic Congolese dish: Mikatè.
Our 3-course menu includes beers from various African countries, wines from South Africa and much more.
Discover the flavors of Congolese cuisine!
