What you’ll do in the class
Refreshments are available when participants arrive.
We start the event with a round of introductions and then roll our sleeves up to chop and salt the cabbage, make the paste and chop other vegetables.
Once that's done, we take a little break to taste different kinds of kimchi along with a korean-style snack. We'll chat about fermentation, including the cultural roots of Kimchi and other asian traditions of fermenting vegetables.
With our batteries recharges, we finish by coating the cabbage with the kimchi paste, adding special ingerdients/flavours if participants wish, and stuffing our kimchi in jars to take home.
Who is the class suitable for?
The workshop is perfect for beginners who are curious about fermentation, as well as experienced fermenters who would like to get to know other enthusiast, share ideas and make kimchi together.
