About this experience
This canoe sailing course is aimed at beginners and experienced sailors alike. The content is taught in such a way that all participants can learn and make progress according to their level.
Participate together
The course is also particularly suitable for two people who want to learn together — for example as father and son or as a couple. You sail together in the boat and take turns in roles. In this way, you both gain practical experience and support each other in learning.
Gain security
The course is also aimed at anyone who wants to gain more safety in handling their boat. Many participants have already gained initial experience but still feel uncertain in certain situations. During training, you will learn to understand your boat better and how to sail in a controlled manner even in more demanding conditions.
training concept
The training is practice-oriented. In teams of two, the participants take turns in roles so that everyone can actively practice. Instructions are given directly via radio during the exercises. In this way, situations can be addressed immediately and feedback given. The content is flexibly adapted to participants' previous knowledge and goals.
Course content
The content is based on seamanship and is transferred to canoe sailing. Among other things, the treatment includes:
- Basics of seamanship
- Wind and weather science
- Sailing technology and materials science
- Understanding and controlling the boat safely
- Sailing manoeuvres (e.g. turning and jibing, putting on and taking off)
- Wind courses
- Adjust and trim sails
Learning under changing conditions
The training is adapted to current conditions. Depending on the weather, practical sessions or additional content take place. Safe handling of boat and equipment is a central part of the course.
Learn in your own sailing canoe
Participants with their own sailing canoe or folding sailboat can use this during the course. In this way, you learn how to sail with your own boat and gain confidence in using your own equipment.
This is a particular advantage of em².
How does this experience take place?
We meet at 10 a.m. on all three days and start with a short theory session. After the lunch break from 12:00 to 13:00, it's time to go out on the water with the sailing canoes.
