I'm Ela, beekeeper, honey expert and honey sommelier, and I'm taking you on an expedition for your senses. We don't just taste — we experience. We debunk myths surrounding expensive Manuka honey, test your taste buds and find out why some honeys stay liquid and others become solid. Come by and be surprised how diverse nature tastes!

What to bring?

Just curiosity and appetite, really! I have everything else on site. (Note: If you have allergies or intolerances, please let me know in advance so that I can plan).

  • Professional presentation by a certified honey sommelier.
  • All honey samples (various types from mild to herb).
  • Fresh bread (various types) at the end.
  • Water to neutralize.

I also offer my honey tasting in private, as long as you have a suitable room and table for 8 people. Team events are possible, maximum number of participants: 15

  • The tasting: We try our hand at the German honey landscape. You can taste the difference between creamy spring blossom honey and spicy forest honey.
  • Fact check: What is the “blooming season” all about and is imported honey worth the money? We compare live: Manuka vs. local cornflower.
  • Consumer tips: Can honey go bad and does it really last “forever”? How do you recognize spoiled honey and what about counterfeit honey?
  • Sensory testing: You taste like the pros. Learn how to work with the aroma wheel and how the various honeys are classified in human sensory terms.
  • The finale: It will be cozy in the end. We test how the taste changes when we combine honey with different types of bread (mares, sourdough, brown bread).
