About this class
The town of Ilsenburg and the Ilse Valley are a wonderful piece of land... and are always worth a visit for (aspiring) landscape photographers! Our Ilsenburg and Ilsetal photo hike will first focus on the exciting topic of long exposures! We want to finally “freeze” Ilse's water ourselves, turn it milky white.
We all know examples of this type of landscape photography; in the Ilse Valley, we find a beautiful little mountain stream where we can practice this technique. It's a lot of fun and great photos guaranteed.

- digital SLR or system camera with manual adjustment options
- Lenses of your choice (on which the filters fit)
- ND filter (ND8 to ND64)
- tripod, cable trigger
- empty memory card, full batteries
- clothes and shoes suitable for the weather
- drinks and snacks for the break (s)
- Good mood & fun taking pictures

On the way up and down Ilse, we will deal with the following aspects of image design in nature and landscape photography
- See motives and implement ideas
- Long exposures during the day
- Depth of field and proper focus
- Practical image design (rule of thirds, camera position, foreground and background)
- experimental landscape photography

What you’ll do in the class
In the first part of the workshop, we go up the Ilse to about the Ilse Falls. On the way, we find small spots everywhere on both sides of the Ilse for our long exposures... and of course there are also many motifs for nature and landscape photos next to the mountain stream.
Back in Ilsenburg, I would like to go to the monastery with you and explore the town a bit myself. Because the town also offers us all sorts of nice photo opportunities. On the way, we will agree on the division between Ilse and Ilsenburg. And of course, we also take breaks as needed.
