The workshop is suitable for absolute beginners as well as advanced learners to gain experience!
You try out different products, tools and techniques on an exercise board and then design your workpiece, a solid wood step stool, according to your own ideas. With a wide selection of colors and the use of decorative design techniques, each individual stool is unique! You can then take the workpiece and exercise board home with you.
The topic of “color as a means of design” is also very important in the workshop, as color influences our emotions, serves as a means of communication and underlines individuality.
In this DIY workshop, you work artisanally, so please bring clothes that can get dirty.
The course fees include the workpiece, material costs, drinks and snacks. Optionally, we can order lunch in the surrounding restaurants - you bear the costs yourself.
How does this activity work?
In the course of the workshop, I will provide you with valuable basic knowledge on these topics:
- Suitability of surfaces - Sanding, abrasives and grits
- Spatula, kit and glue
- Types of brushes and rollers, tools - Primer, barrier base and clearcoat
- Varnish
and color science - Decorative design techniques
- Use of color systems such as RAL and NCS as well as color scanners
