What is the Introductory Machine Tufting in Berlin about?
In this four hour introductory machine tufting workshop you will learn the fundamental techniques of tufting with a machine gun to create a rug or wall hanging up to 40cm x 40cm, or several smaller pieces within that frame. Students will be encouraged to experiment with three different tufting guns, each with a unique pile height, and become comfortable operating each by the end of the class. There is also a wide range of color choices in both wool and acrylic yarns for a one of a kind piece of art.
You can either arrive with an idea of what you would like to create, an item or idea that inspires you, or organically create your design as you tuft. For this workshop I highly encourage you to come in with a more vague idea that can be molded and changed as you experiment with colors and textures! If coming with your own design, keep in mind that it should be relatively simple as small details can be difficult to execute and take considerably more time.
Rugs can be taken home at the end of the class or backed by me and picked up within three business days.

This workshop is suitable especially for beginners. If you are already experienced you´re still very welcome.

What to bring?
Wear comfortable clothing without loose embellishments as you will be working with moving machinery. Long hair should be tied back.
What is included?
Workshops includes all tools and supplies, including a large selection of wool, cotton, or acrylic yarns. Rugs can be taken home as-is or backed by me and picked up in three business days. If you are not local to Berlin I can also mail you your completed rug for the cost of shipping.
