Saaleck Castle Winery: Wine hikes in Hammelburg

We are Weingut Lange - Schloss Saaleck in Hammelburg on the Franconian Saale. Our history dates back to 1298 — and we are one of the oldest wineries in Franconia. Today, we cultivate 18.5 hectares of vineyards in historically important locations, surrounded by listed quarry stone walls and permeated by the special microclimate of the Saale.

We work 100% organically according to Naturland guidelines and attach great importance to treating nature carefully. We cultivate our vineyards with compost fertilization, species-rich greening and completely refrain from using chemical-synthetic plant protection products and artificial irrigation. Every work step — from pruning to foliage work and vine care to selective manual harvesting — is done entirely by hand with experience and care. In this way, we promote biodiversity and protect our groundwater permanently.
