Class description

STREET PHOTOGRAPHY

... is truly a fascinating genre of photography. And a very old, original one: Street photography happens in public spaces, it shows the urban environment and captures life, the everyday hustle and bustle on the streets. It is often random moments that are shown; sometimes it is well-planned compositions or patiently awaited scenes that impress. We want to try out these two, maybe three types of street photography in our workshop!

After a short technical check, we discuss suitable camera settings (focal lengths, apertures, exposure times) and design options (depth of field, movement (in) sharpness, color or black and white) — and then it's off to street photography in Hanover!

From Aegi to the train station, in front of the opera house and around Kröpcke, we find plenty of opportunities and motifs for both snapshots and sophisticated composting! There are people everywhere who (mostly) populate our photos as “extras” and who can portray life in the streets. These can also be images taken indirectly: shadows, reflections, details. If you dare, you are welcome to try “close ups”.

How does this activity work?
