At History Of Rum Tasting, we take our guests on a journey through the history of sugar cane.

With its origins in East Asia, this cultivated plant later reached medieval Europe via the Silk Road in the luggage of traders. His international success story as an engine and one of the most important resources for the development of the New World began here. To this day, these countries are still dealing with the light and dark sides of the history of sugar cane.

What is the process?

Follow THE SPIRITISTS on a path into the history of rum. In the first part of the History Of Rum Tasting, we follow sugar cane stations from East Asia via Europe to the Canary Islands to Brazil. Discover together with us the different styles, countries and influences that have significantly contributed to the success of this spirit.

During our exciting spirits journey, we treat ourselves to a delicious culinary break. Our partner locations serve selected, delicious dishes from their current menus.

In the second part of our History Of Rum Tastings, we travel from the South American continent via the Caribbean Islands to the south/east coast of the United States. The development of sugar cane was in full bloom here. Various production types, single cask bottlings and blends using the Solera process have shaped the profile of rum production up to the present day.
