Class description

This course is suitable for advanced learners.

You should have at least already designed a few words and letterings - or have taken one of my beginner/basics courses. The focus is on decorating our lettering. We are taking Halloween as our theme and working on our individual lettering for three hours.

We will design a logo together. Everyone creates what they like. We then move on to drafting. I'll take you into the world of design and show you what you can pay attention to to make your work even more appealing.

How do we actually do that?

After registration, you will receive your access link to the ZOOM meeting, which you can simply open on time at the start of the event via the browser. It would be great if you could participate with your own webcam (or camera from a tablet or mobile phone), because then I can take a look at your work in between and help you if necessary.

Details to remember

What to bring?

List of materials:

  • cheap copy paper for our sketches
  • Possibly transparent or sandwich paper to design
  • pencil and eraser (very important)
  • Brush pens, felt-tip pens, fineliner, watercolor paint — whatever you prefer to paint with for the preparation
  • Paper to work on: Depending on which technique you choose, I recommend that you choose the appropriate paper, if you do something with felt-tip pens, color gradients or watercolor, I also recommend watercolor paper, preferably a smooth, satined one (for example the Canson XL watercolors)
  • A thin round brush in size 2 is practical, either a synthetic brush, because they always have firm and controllable bristles (e.g. Da Vinci Nova, or Da Vinci FIT Synthetics) or if you would like to invest in a good watercolor brush, I recommend the Kazalon brush from Gerstäcker.

What is included?

You will receive support and tips throughout the workshop so that you can create great hand lettering.
