Floral spring pottery in Hamburg
Spring is just around the corner. For example, we make bowls, cups or bowls. Flowers, grasses and stamps with matching motifs as well as clay glazes are used for painting.
Let's get in the creative mood for spring together.
At the end of the course, everyone has around two to four nice results from clay.
How does this activity work?
We warmly welcome you and you to my studio on our farm near Hamburg and look forward to a creative and hyggelous get-together.
After a short introduction, you'll get some fresh clay in your hands and we'll first shape the thumb bowl, the classic as an introduction to the pinch and thumb technique. This gives you a feel for the sound. With your little clay ball in your hand, you become looser and more relaxed, because you notice that it is a lot of fun to create something completely unique. It can also have a meditative effect, especially for you in the here and now! In any case, it provides 100 percent relaxing balance ;-) Your first, own little bowl is then
made from the clay ball. Bravo!
This is then designed according to your own creative ideas. Beautiful stamps and modelling sticks are then used.
We are now in the flow with familiar materials and then we model cups, bowls or bowls out of clay.
You will then meet a selection of herbs and grasses. We will choose these ourselves in the garden. I already have a selection of flowers ready for you in the studio.
Before applying color to the clay workpieces, your floral treasures may be immortalized in the clay with an imprint.
We then paint them with engobes (clay glazes) or if you like, stick to the natural tone.
When the plants are carefully removed, beautiful natural prints and attractive structures are created. This is because the plant prints remain in the color of their natural tone and give a wonderful contrast to the colored background that was previously applied.
After drying approximately 14 days later, the workpieces are fired
(940 degrees),
on request, glazed by me with transparent liquid glaze and fired again at 1040 degrees. After a total of three to four weeks, the ceramics are ready for collection.
Who should definitely take part?
This course is suitable for beginners and advanced users, as well as adults and teenagers.
If possible, fingernails should not be long.

The clay washes out of clothes, but you are welcome to bring a smock.
