Class description
Our seminar not only serves to get to know the taste of rum, but also as a basis for general knowledge about rum, its production and its origin.
We start with the plant, the sugar cane, how is it grown and why it is best suited for making rum. The sugar cane is harvested, processed and finally used either as sugar cane juice or as molasses to produce rum.
Distillation is the next step that rum goes through, here we encounter significant differences in the types of distilleries. The last step of rum before it comes to us in a bottle so that we can enjoy it is maturing, i.e. storage in (usually) oak barrels under various climatic conditions.
Mineral water and bread, which serve as a flavor neutralizer, are of course included.
The tasting usually takes between 2 and 3 hours.
