About this class
Dive into the fascinating world of tufting and design your own rug (50x50 cm)! In this 4-hour workshop in Cologne, you will learn the technique of tufting from the ground up. With a wide selection of 100% vegan wool, professional instructions and lots of insider tips, you can create your dream. Enjoy the creative atmosphere with delicious snacks and drinks. Regardless of whether you want to participate alone, with friends or as a team event — this course is suitable for all creative people aged 16 and over!
The final finishing and refinement work will be done by me, as your rug needs at least 3 days to dry, as well as the further finishing work. I will of course take care of that and send you a message as soon as your rug is ready:) You are welcome to pick it up at my studio or have it sent directly to your home within 1-2 weeks.
The refinement work includes the following steps: • Gluing the border • Cutting the backside • Gluing the backside • Scissoring with the machine/ trimming (no carving)
What you’ll do in the class
- Welcome & introduction to tufting technology
- Explanation of the tufting gun and material science
- Choose the right colors from a wide range of vegan wool
- Practical phase: learning the tufting technique for lines and curves
- Implementation of your individual design on a 50x50 cm frame
- Your rug will be professionally finished after the workshop
- Picking up (free of charge) or shipping (with an additional charge) of the finished rug after approx. one week
