Class description
Would you like to try out pottery and get to know the art of turning a potter's wheel? The taster course offers you the perfect opportunity to gain initial experience and dive into the world of sound.
The course is limited to a maximum of 4 participants, so you will be intensively supervised in a small group and have enough time to learn the basics of pottery. After the course, I will finish your pieces so that you will have two finished ceramics in your hands after a few weeks.
How does this activity work?
The taster course starts with a short introduction, in which I will explain the process and show you how to properly prepare the sound. It's then on to the potter's wheel: step by step, you'll learn how to center the clay, shape it and turn your first own bowls or cups. I take a lot of time for each participant so that you get a feel for the techniques and feel safe at the hub.
As soon as your works are ready, I will show you the basic skills of turning — the finishing touches in which the shape is finally refined and the pieces get their characteristic look. After a few rounds, we will complete the course together by cleaning the workplace — an important part that is also part of working with sound and introduces you to the processes in a workshop.
Who should definitely take part?
The taster course is ideal for anyone who has never worked on the potter's wheel or simply wants to try something new. It is aimed at complete beginners as well as anyone who wants to develop a feel for the hub without immediately committing to a longer course. This course is also a great start for those who are looking for a creative break.
Details to remember
What to bring?
It is best to bring comfortable clothes that can sometimes get dirty. Long hair requires a braid and making pottery is easier with short nails. I'll make everything else available to you.
What is included?
The price includes all necessary materials, such as clay and tools, as well as expert guidance throughout the course. After the course, I will continue processing and firing your works: Two selected pieces per participant are dried, screwed and then glazed. In this way, you can be sure that your ceramics are suitable for everyday use and of high quality.
