About this class
Indonesian cuisine is known for its diversity and strong taste. In this group course, I will introduce you to three authentic, vegetarian or vegan dishes from my local kitchen. You will get to know some typical Indonesian herbs and spices, combined with ingredients that are also available here in Germany. We will prepare a full meal together — from main course, side dish to dessert, and then enjoy it afterwards.
Menu 1:
- Nasi goreng - Indonesian style fried rice
- Sate Tempe - Indonesian skewers with tempe
- Urap sayur - Javanese style vegetable mix
- Klepon - delicious, sweet rice balls
Menu 2:
- Gado-gado - Indonesian salad with peanut sauce
- Tahu Isi - Filled tofu cubes
- Perkedel - Indonesian potato meatball
- Sop buah - fruit soup
What you’ll do in the class
The course is also welcome to take place in your own kitchen (Aachen/Cologne/Düsseldorf area) if you book a group.
At the start, there will be a presentation about the dishes and their cultural context. You will then get to know the ingredients you need and their respective aromas. That's when you're ready to go!
The ingredients are already roughly prepared. You will prepare a few ingredients yourself so that you get a feel for the ingredients. The cooking process is designed so that the dishes are ready at the same time at the end. Finally, enjoy your own cooking results!
Who is the class suitable for?
The course is perfect for you if you love Indonesian food and want to bring the tastes of your last vacation home. It is suitable for beginners as well as amateur chefs who are enthusiastic about Southeast Asian cuisine.

Very nice course in a homely atmosphere, so there were only two of us and we completely listened to all steps or carried them out ourselves. It was delicious and we were able to take the sumptuous leftovers with us. Thank you Flor...
