Class description
Take this painting course on a creative journey and learn from an experienced artist how you can create wonderful landscapes. In this painting course, you will learn the necessary techniques and maybe even develop your own painting style. Look forward to an unforgettable, creative experience!
What can you expect from the painting course in Schneverdingen?
With basic and advanced acrylic painting techniques (spatula, squeegee, rags, sponges, etc.), we approach the genre of “landscape painting” in a completely different way, without photo templates and in an improvising, experimental and playful way. In doing so, visual worlds are discovered that do not correspond to the usual nice Sunday pictures, but show a personal stylistic expression. Painting is seen here as a journey of discovery, in which spontaneous ideas are explored. The landscape paintings are created from a mix of realistic and fictional elements and live in a range from closeness to nature to almost completely abstract work.
Who is the landscape painting course suitable for?
The course is suitable for beginners and advanced learners alike. It is important that you want to express yourself creatively and maybe even discover your own painting style. In this painting class, create unique abstract landscapes using various techniques.
You should still know that:
- Course duration: 4 days of 6 lessons of 60 minutes, approx. 10-13 and 14-17
- Course location: PLAN:A, Atelier Anne Schwabe, Zahrenser Weg 25b, 29640 Schneverdingen
- Instructor and artist: Hinrich JW Schüler (*1964 Wittmund/Nordsee) worked as a freelance artist in Hamburg and Schwäbisch Gmünd after studying art at the University of Oldenburg; he has lived and worked in Düsseldorf since 2005. Schüler's works are in public and private collections. Hinrich JW Schüler has also worked as a speaker and lecturer in many creative fields of adult education since 1994. Hinrich JW Schüler draws on an almost endless pool of knowledge about art history, art and painting, which he readily and very professionally passes on to his painting students. He meets course participants on equal footing. Hinrich JW Schüler is Northern German, direct, yet without exception appreciative. He never expresses criticism without at the same time offering support or an individual solution for further action. The artist has the gift of showing his painting students ways out of seemingly complicated and blocked creative situations and works.
Please note that this course takes place over 4 consecutive days.

What initially began as a passion and with attending various artistic seminars developed into a freelance work as a visual artist. My work focuses in particular on free and (figurative) abstract painting.
