Mars is a non-binary therapist, poet, artist, and lay-Buddhist. Through workshops, creative work and one-to-one sessions with clients, they aim to create a world of greater self-acceptance, compassion and connectedness.
Meditative drawing
is a way of connecting creativity and mindfulness to expand your capabilities in both.
It is a method of getting into intimate touch with our awareness of the world around us, and through it, with ourselves.
It’s a fun way to unlock new paths in creative practice,
improve your drawing, and teach you new ways of seeing the beauty in the world.
This workshop is appropriate for all levels of skill in either meditation or drawing, from complete beginners to practiced veterans.
Through a 3 hour workshop, we will explore in various exercises how to connect mindfulness of your breath and its energy with the flow of a drawing, how to absorb ourselves in a still life subject until self-consciousness drops away, and how to look at subjects with fresh eyes, so we can experience the joy of connecting with the world through drawing.
Pencils and paper will be available, however if you want to experiment with other tools and drawing materials you are welcome to bring your own.
