Introduction to sewing in Berlin: No experience needed

Curious if sewing is for you? Are you already super excited about our clothes making classes or you just want to know the basics, so you can keep learning by yourself at home? Then this introduction will give you the knowledge and hands on skills you need to get the easiest start with sewing.

Train your mind, hands (and foot) in an all-you-can learn introductory sewing class, created to offer you a solid foundation around: 

• Using the sewing machine
• Sewing different fabrics
• Taking body measurements

What are the goals?

• To help you develop an effortless and hassle-free sewing style on a home sewing machine;
• To offer you a thorough understanding of the different settings and technical possibilities you have with the sewing machine, so you can later experiment at home with different materials;
• To give you an overview of the possible types of stitches in relation to fabrics;
• To show you all those little tricks you need to know about fabrics, sewing & measurements, so that when you start your first projects, you will be able to complete them in a smooth and fun way.

You will learn:

• How to set up and use correctly the home sewing machine and all its different functions;
• How to use the home sewing machine to sew different types of fabrics, using the most common stitches you will later need in your projects; 
• How to understand and fix quickly the most common beginner home sewing machine set-up issues;
• How to take correct full body measurements.
