Learn how to create your very own sushi set
Sushi began to be prepared, to its origins in China, as a method of preservation of the fish in rice. When the method arrived in Japan, the rice was also consumed together with the fish. By accelerating the fermentation process of rice by adding vinegar, sushi became a fast, light, and nutritious meal and gained worldwide popularity.
Presenting this rich and healthy dish in exclusive ceramic tableware adds even more value to it. The ceramic sushi set will be like a delicate jewel in your kitchen, combining the classic lines that define it with your personal creative touch.
In the workshop dedicated to the sushi set you will create, surprisingly easy, pieces that will stand out in beauty and oriental minimalism.
It is a very rewarding experience, as the versatility of the clay and the construction techniques with slabs and pinching allow you to obtain quick and aesthetically very beautiful results.
It is a highly recommended workshop whether it is your first contact with clay or to give a creative experience as a present to someone dear or to yourself.
By the end of this hand-building course, you'll be able to:
- Build the 4 pieces that make up the sushi set (1 plate, 1 sauce plate, 1 bowl, and 1 chopstick holder) with different techniques such as slabs, coils, and the pinching technique;
- Apply textures by exerting pressure with different objects and materials on the clay and also with the help of the slip;
- Decorate your pieces with textures, stencils, etc

Wir treffen uns im Clayground Studio
In diesem 2-stündigen Handbau-Keramik-Workshop tauchen Sie in die Grundlagen der Arbeit mit Ton ein. Wir stellen alle Materialien zur Verfügung, einschließlich Ton, Werkzeuge und Schürzen, damit Sie sich darauf konzentrieren können, kreativ zu werden. Sie lernen wichtige Handbautechniken und haben die Möglichkeit, bis zu 3 eigene Unikate herzustellen.
Wenn Sie Ihre Stücke brennen lassen möchten, kaufen Sie bitte das Zusatzpaket „Glasieren und Brennservice“. Sie haben die Wahl zwischen 3 Farben, in denen Sie sie glasieren lassen können. Nach einem zweiten Brand in unseren Brennöfen sind Ihre Artikel 2-3 Wochen nach dem Kurs abholbereit.

We’ve put together this kit with the growing sculptor in mind. If you want to start making stunning handbuilt ceramics at home with all the textures, shapes, patterns, and details of advanced sculpting, this kit is for you.
Please note that this kit includes clay tools, but the costs of firing/glazing will be charged as extra if you want to finish and save any pieces you make. The cost will depend on the number of items and their weight.
Do you wish to keep your creations and show them off to your friends? After the workshop, you will be given a choice of three colours to finish your ceramic piece. We will take care of glazing and firing your ceramics. These will be ready to collect 2-3 weeks after the workshop, from Clayground Berlin
